Ex-Fiancé Charged in Michelle Parker Murder Case

ORLANDO — Police arrested Dale Smith Jr. on Wednesday and charged him with second-degree murder in the disappearance of Michelle Parker, his former fiancé, 15 years ago.

Parker, 33, vanished on Nov. 17, 2011, after dropping off her children at Smith's home in the Conway area. Smith was the last person to see or hear from her.

Detectives reopened the investigation and expanded their team to reexamine witness testimony, Smith's statements, and digital evidence from phones, computers, and vehicles. The technical analysis uncovered information that led to the arrest.

Parker's remains have not been found. Investigators continue searching for her.
