McLeod Health Infusion Therapy Suites Florence Myrtle Beach

McLeod Health opened two standalone infusion therapy suites designed to treat conditions beyond cancer, with locations in Florence and Myrtle Beach.

The Florence suite operates in McLeod Medical Park West on the McLeod Regional Medical Center campus. The Myrtle Beach location sits in Building Two at McLeod Health Carolina Forest. Both facilities operate Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The suites treat gastrointestinal disorders, rheumatology conditions like arthritis, lung diseases such as asthma and COPD, and cardiovascular disease. Certified infusion nurses and trained pharmacists monitor patients and provide education during treatment.

Treatment duration varies by medication and condition. Some therapies require quick injections or 30-minute infusions; others take several hours. The suites provide televisions, Wi-Fi, drinks, and snacks for patients during longer sessions.

Morgan Pierce, pharmacy manager with McLeod Infusion and Oncology Services, said infusion therapy offers convenience compared to daily pills. "They may come get an injection once a month or once every six months," she said.

A medication access team coordinates insurance, financial assistance, and appointment scheduling for referred patients. McLeod plans to expand infusion services to Dillon, Cheraw, Manning, and other regional locations.
