MetroNet Fiber Optic Installation Starts in Flint
MetroNet will install underground fiber optic cables in the Genesee Road, Kings Pointe, Riverbend West, and Kirkridge neighborhoods as part of a partnership with T-Mobile to build a fiber optic internet network.
Construction crews will access public rights-of-way and utility easements along streets, sidewalks, lot lines, and between properties. They will not enter private property. Property owners who have fenced off easement areas may need to provide access.
Before work begins in each neighborhood, MetroNet will send letters, postcards, and post signage. Residents will see white flags and temporary paint marking underground utilities.
Property owners should mark underground sprinkler systems, dog fences, or sump pump lines with white flags or landscape-safe spray paint before construction begins. Residents can report these features online at Metronet.com/TMoConstruction or call (877) 386-3876.
The fiber optic network will provide high-speed internet service to homes and businesses in the construction areas once installation is complete.
