Residents in Flemingsburg and surrounding areas were advised to take precautions against a morning freeze on April 8, 2026. The National Weather Service in Jackson, KY, issued a freeze warning that was in effect until 10:00 AM EDT that morning.

Temperatures were expected to drop to between 30 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit in valleys, low-lying, and sheltered locations. Other areas were forecast to see temperatures in the mid-30s.

The cold snap posed a risk to crops and other sensitive vegetation. Residents were urged to protect tender plants from the frost and freeze conditions.
