WASHINGTON – The United States Postal Service announced today the appointment of Michael J. Elston as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President, effective June 3, 2024. Elston will oversee all aspects of human resources for the Postal Service’s 630,000 employees.

Elston will oversee all aspects of human resources for the Postal Service’s 630,000 employees. “Michael brings a wealth of human resources leadership experience to the Postal Service,” said Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. “His proven track record in developing and implementing successful HR strategies will be invaluable as we continue to transform our organization and invest in our employees.” Elston has over 25 years of human resources leadership experience. He has held senior HR positions at several large organizations, including leading HR functions for retail, healthcare, and financial services companies. Most recently, he served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for a large retail organization.
