This is a repost of position #52651 Biological Scientist I Regular Full-time Lake Alfred, FL Apply By: Open until filled The University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) seeks a Biological Scientist I to support the Entomology and Nematology Department at the Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) in Lake Alfred, FL. Duties will include, but are not limited to, conduct bioassays to test the efficacy of insecticides against various insect pests and mites that affect citrus; assist in conducting field trials and collecting data related to insect pest management in citrus; assist in laboratory and greenhouse experiments; maintain insect and mite colonies; assist in the preparation of scientific reports and presentations; and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in conducting bioassays, field trials, and laboratory experiments. Knowledge of insect pest management in citrus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Salary: $40,000 – $45,000; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
