FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC Salary $55,484.80 - $86,307.20 Annually Location Various Locations throughout Pasco County, FL Job Type Full-Time Regular Department Fire Rescue Closing Date Continuous General Description Pasco County Fire Rescue is seeking dedicated and motivated Firefighter/Paramedics to join our team. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to fire, medical, and other emergency calls to protect life and property. Essential Functions Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergency calls. Perform fire suppression activities, including advancing hose lines, operating nozzles, and using hand tools. Provide emergency medical care to sick or injured persons, including performing CPR, administering medications, and providing advanced life support. Extricate victims from vehicles and other confined spaces. Ventilate buildings to remove smoke and heat. Search for and rescue victims from burning buildings and other hazardous environments. Operate and maintain fire apparatus and equipment. Conduct fire prevention inspections and educate the public on fire safety. Participate in fire drills and training exercises. Maintain physical fitness and proficiency in firefighting and emergency medical skills. Prepare reports and maintain records. Perform other duties as assigned. Employment Standards Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance. Must possess a valid Florida Paramedic license. Must possess current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Must be able to pass a physical agility test, medical examination, and background check. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of firefighting principles and techniques. Knowledge of emergency medical care principles and techniques. Skill in operating fire apparatus and equipment. Skill in providing emergency medical care. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Ability to maintain physical fitness. Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
