Employee should have a working knowledge of laboratory safety and quality assurance practices. Employee will be required to effectively manage time and work independently as well as in a team environment. Employee must be able to operate scientific equipment such as spectrophotometers, microscopes, and autoclaves. Employee must be familiar with word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry software. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Assists in the analysis of samples using established laboratory procedures in accordance with applicable SOPs and regulations. Duties include but are not limited to sample preparation, chemical analysis, data entry, laboratory instrument maintenance, and general housekeeping. -Maintains proper documentation, records, and QA/QC data for all tests performed in accordance with established SOPs and regulations. -Performs other related duties as required. Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: -Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures. -Ability to follow oral and written instructions. -Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to work independently. Minimum qualifications required for this position: -A high school diploma or its equivalent; and -Two years of laboratory experience. -A valid driver license.
