Part-Time Museum Educator The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is seeking a dynamic and engaging Part-Time Museum Educator to join our team! The Museum Educator is responsible for facilitating meaningful learning experiences for diverse audiences through tours, workshops, and other educational programs. This role requires a passion for art, history, and education, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities: Conduct engaging and informative tours of the A&H’s historic campus and exhibitions for school groups, adult groups, and the general public. Develop and implement hands-on art activities and workshops for children and adults. Assist with the development of educational materials, such as tour scripts, activity guides, and online resources. Provide excellent customer service to visitors and ensure a positive and memorable experience. Assist with the setup and cleanup of educational programs and events. Maintain accurate records of program attendance and evaluations. Stay up-to-date on current museum education practices and trends. Assist with other museum duties as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in art history, history, education, or a related field. Experience working in a museum or educational setting. Strong knowledge of art history and historical events. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings. Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing and implementing hands-on art activities. Experience working with children. Fluency in Spanish or another second language. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings. Schedule: This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will include weekdays, weekends, and evenings, as needed. Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $16-18 per hour, commensurate with experience.
