Trump to Attend Pentagon 9/11 Ceremony

Why it matters locally: President Trump's attendance at the Pentagon 9/11 ceremony directly involves Virginia, as the Pentagon is located in Arlington, Virginia. This marks the first time he will participate in the annual commemoration at this specific site.

President Donald Trump will visit the Pentagon to observe the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This marks his first time participating in the annual ceremony at the Virginia site. Traditionally, presidents have attended the ceremony at Ground Zero in New York City. This year, Trump will instead join officials and families at the Pentagon, which also sustained a direct attack during the 2001 events. Further details regarding his schedule and remarks were not immediately available.
