Milton Township Expands Food Aid, Emergency Assistance in 2025

Milton Township distributed 33,000 pounds of food to more than 13,000 residents in 2025, significantly expanding its food relief programs after a SNAP benefits shutdown.

The township also provided $84,000 in emergency financial assistance to residents struggling with rent, mortgage, utility, and other bills over seven months.

Milton Township's Community Emergency Response Team logged 9,600 hours of service, saving DuPage County taxpayers $333,000, according to Supervisor Higgins-Beard's annual report.

The township holds monthly Board meetings on the third Thursday of each month at 1492 N. Main Street, Wheaton. Bill review begins at 5:45 p.m., with the agenda at 6 p.m.
