Milton Township S.A.L.T. Council Senior Safety Programs

The Milton Township S.A.L.T. Council, made up of police officers, social workers, township employees, and seniors, hosts monthly educational sessions on topics including scams, housing, and Medicare.

Rita Brosnan from Senior Home Sharing spoke in October about her organization's work addressing affordable housing for low-income seniors in DuPage County. The group has helped 85 seniors maintain independence and community ties, and offers in-home counseling to connect clients with services.

Sue Davison, a counselor with Glen Ellyn Social Services, discussed Medicare Part B enrollment options in November. Davison runs exercise classes, a book club, and trivia games at the Glen Ellyn Senior Center.

Allison Green, an Eldercare Advisor and owner of Assisted Living Locators, addressed senior care options and common misconceptions in February. In March, Kathy Driscoll represented the Widows and Widowers organization for the West Suburbs, which offers support through monthly meetings and social events.
