Traffic Alert: Heavy Congestion Expected at Coliseum Area Saturday for Megan Moroney Concert, High School Graduations

"Greensboro Complex will host multiple events on Saturday, June 6 including a capacity crowd for Megan Moroney in concert beginning at 7 p.m. at First Horizon Coliseum.   In addition to the concert, the Complex is also hosting Alamance-Burlington High School graduations on June 6 in the Novant Health Fieldhouse. The first ceremony, Southeast Alamance High School, will begin at 9 a.m. with additional ceremonies to follow throughout the afternoon.   In anticipation of a high volume of traffic in the Coliseum area, the Greensboro Complex, Greensboro Department of Transportation and Greensboro Police Department advise all patrons to plan to arrive early, and carpooling is strongly encouraged.   GPD will be managing major intersections in the vicinity of the Coliseum and variable messaging systems will be deployed to advise motorists of parking and traffic information. The main Coliseum parking lot will open at 3 p.m. for concert goers and can be accessed off Ellington Street and Patterson Street. Patrons are encouraged to arrive and be parked by 5 p.m. Doors to the Coliseum are scheduled to open at 6 p.m. Traffic is expected to be heaviest in the Coliseum area from 5-7 p.m. and it is recommended motorists not attending Complex events seek alternate routes during this time.   Concert patrons are also encouraged to utilize the UNCG Park & Ride Lot (1720 W. Gate City Blvd) for convenient access to the north entrance of the Coliseum and easier post-event exiting.  "
