North Pole Water System Wins State Excellence Award

The North Pole Utility Water System earned the State of Alaska's Water System Excellence Award at the Ursa Major level, the program's highest tier, for the fifth consecutive year.

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation awards the designation to water systems that maintain operator certification compliance for four consecutive quarters and incur no drinking water violations. Only 15 percent of Alaska's water utilities qualified this year.

North Pole's system has held the distinction since 2018.
