Ziad, Kifak Enta? -- An Evening of Music in Memory of Ziad Rahbani

Ziad, Kifak Enta? -- An Evening of Music in Memory of Ziad Rahbani

About this Event

The Brooklyn Nomads present: Ziad, Kifak Enta? -- An Evening of Music in Memory of Ziad Rahbani Ziad Rahbani was one of the most influential Arab artists of the past half-century -- a Lebanese composer, playwright, and provocateur who fused Arabic song with jazz and funk, gave Lebanon its sharpest political satire, and wrote some of the most beloved songs ever sung by his mother, the legendary Fairuz. To millions across the Arab world, his music is the sound of home, of laughter in dark times, and of an artist who never stopped standing with the people. Nearly a year to the day since his passing, The Brooklyn Nomads gather to say hello to Ziad the only way that makes sense -- through his music. Whether you grew up with his songs or are hearing his name for the first time, join us for a journey through his worlds: songs of satire, love, and resistance, weaving through beloved works including Kifak Enta, Ana Moush Kafer, and Oudak Rannan -- moving the way Ziad did, between laughter and ache, the café and the barricade.
