Residents will have the opportunity to add a little more green to their yards later this month as the City of Owensboro hosts a Tree Seedling Giveaway. The City’s Engineering Department is partnering with the Owensboro Neighborhood Alliance Program to distribute free tree seedlings on Thursday, April 30, in the parking lot of the Owensboro Sportscenter. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., or while supplies last. Attendees can choose from Eastern redbud and white dogwood seedlings - two native species known for their beautiful spring blooms. To ensure more residents can participate, there will be a limit of five seedlings per person. Residents are encouraged to arrive early, as supplies are limited.
