Mural at Art Center and Georgetown ISD Student Mural Project The SoMa Arts District mural will be installed on the Georgetown Art Center at the end of March. The mural will be located on the second floor, north-exterior wall of the Art Center and will welcome visitors to the South Main Arts District with imagery that showcases the many different types of fine arts in the Downtown Cultural District. The mural has been designed by artist Caleb Crisp of Abilene, Texas. The sixth and final installation of the Georgetown ISD Student Mural Project features the work of Williams Elementary School students. The theme and title of the mural is “Together We Rise” and features hot air balloons that drop hearts harvested in Georgetown upon the entire community. The students will paint the mural on ripstop fabric in their classroom, then install the mural in May. To wrap up this memorable and meaningful mural project, mural artist Sarah Blankenship has painted a project title and background on the entire mural wall. The title artwork was designed by artist Nick Ramos.Find more information about the Georgetown Public Art Program.
