Joseph Daniel Blount, Sr., 56, of Palatka, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Palatka. He was employed by Dames Point Workboats, LLC of Jacksonville for the past 6 years.He is preceded in death by his dad, John A. Blount, Sr.; brother-in-law, James (Jim) Carroll, Sr.; brother-in-law Donnie Morris, nephew, James Carroll, Jr.; sister, Miriam Gail Carroll; sister-in-law, Bridgett Blount; and brother-in-law, Tom Godfrey.He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda Blount, daughters, Jessica Arnold and Summer Blount (Marcus Coleman), sons, Jack Watson (Jenna) and Joseph Daniel Blount, Jr., his mom, Ruth R. Blount, and siblings Allen Blount, David Blount (Char), Steve Blount, Judi Morris, Philip Blount (Lydia), Tim Blount, Beth Godfrey, and Sarah Erazo (Tony). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Arabella Watson, Samuel Watson, Chandler Watson, Noah Watson, Titan Watson, Roxi Townsend, Chevy Townsend, and Marlee Coleman, an uncle, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephewsJoe was the best friend and love of Linda’s life for these 25 years.He was a good and loving dad and granddad. His face always lit up when his kids and grandkids were with him. He was an avid Florida Gator and Miami Dolphin fan. Family was everything to Joe.Services Celebrating Joe’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday March 21, 2026 at the Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.Memories and condolences may be expressed to the family at Joe's Book of Memories page at www.j-ofunerals.comArrangements are entrusted to Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
