Second Saturday Sanitary District Cleanup

Second Saturday Sanitary District Cleanup

About this Event

In response to a growing community need for additional cleanup opportunities beyond Terre Haute’s traditional semi-annual citywide cleanups, Mayor Brandon Sakbun, Code Enforcement, Street Department, Public Works, and the City of Terre Haute Sanitary District have jointly launched the City’s first-ever Second Saturday Sanitary District Cleanup Drop-Off Program. The new monthly program will run from May through August and provide residents with more frequent opportunities to dispose of unwanted household items in an organized and convenient manner. “This program was created after recognizing that many residents needed additional cleanup options throughout the year,” said Mayor Brandon Sakbun. “Our annual cleanups remain important, but this new effort gives residents another way to keep their neighborhoods and properties clean and safe during the summer months.” Second Saturday Cleanup Drop-Offs will be held at the Street Department Garage, located at 1329 Deming Street, on the second Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, or until dumpsters are full. Cleanup Dates: May 9 June 13 July 11 August 8 Accepted items include: Large household items Electronics Yard debris (sticks and branches under 1-inch diameter) Bagged trash only Tires (maximum of 4) Eligibility for the Second Saturday Sanitary District Cleanup Program includes residents residing within the sanitary district who: Receive a monthly City of Terre Haute sewer bill, OR Live within the incorporated Terre Haute city limits Participants must bring a current City of Terre Haute sewer bill for entry. Residents who do not have a copy of their bill may obtain one from the Sewage Billing Department at City Hall prior to the monthly events. The program is limited to one drop-off trip per residence.
