NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rockford City Council has scheduled a Public Hearing for Monday, May 11, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 7 S. Monroe Street, Rockford, MI 49341, for the purpose of discussing the adoption of the 2026-2027 Budget and millage rate.  The proposed operating millage rate is 12.6035 mils, plus an additional .85 mils authorized for the Library Debt Millage, for a total of 13.4535 mils.  Council will also adopt the 2026-2027 water and sewer rates.  A copy of the proposed budget and fees will be available for public review and inspection at City Hall during normal business hours. THE PROPERTY TAX MILLAGE RATE PROPOSED TO BE LEVIED TO SUPPORT THE PROPOSED BUDGET WILL BE A SUBJECT OF THIS HEARING.  Public comments, either oral or written, are welcome at the Public Hearing and can also be sent to the City via email at [email protected]                 Persons with special needs, as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act, should contact the City Clerk at 616-866-1537 or the Michigan Relay Center TDD 1-800-649-3777 for accommodations.
