Pastel Painting-A Test Drive

This one-day workshop is the perfect opportunity for artists who are curious about the pastel medium. It is a day to explore the joys of pastels to see if you want to dive in further. All you need to bring is a drawing board to accommodate a 9 x 12 piece of paper. You will receive two sheets of sanded paper to work on and the rest of the supplies will be there for you to 'play' with. The morning will start with an intro to pastels and a demo showing step-by-step from the underpainting through layering hard and soft pastels to create the beautiful glow of pastels. In the afternoon you have the option to paint along using the same image as the demo or use your own photo reference. By the end of the day, you will get a good taste of this fun and user-friendly medium.
