Niskayuna Arbor Day Festival
About this Event
Town of Niskayuna kicked off our Arbor Day celebrations early today at Town Hall! Supervisor Erin Cassady-Dorion and Councilmembers Sarah Bilofsky and Ashok Ramasubramanian officially planted our 2026 Tulip Tree and read this year's Arbor Day Resolution.
A huge thank you to Lowe’s for donating an additional Tulip Tree to be planted in River Road Park! These native trees will provide vital habitat for our local pollinators—like the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail—and beautiful shade for years to come.
Join us for our Niskayuna Arbor Day Festival will be on Saturday, April 25th, from 11 AM - 1 PM at Town Hall for our Arbor Day Festival!During Arbor Day, we will have a host of fun and educational activities for town residents and families. Attendees can visit various environmental and tree related booths to learn about tree care and maintenance, and children can participate in tree-related crafts. There will be a beautiful tree art contest featuring art from Niskayuna high school students. The Tree Council will be handing out 11 different types of bareroot tree seedlings for families to plant in their yards (while supplies last). These include Eastern Redbud, White Flowering Dogwood, Serviceberry, Red Osier Dogwood (bush), Buttonbush (bush), Sweetbay Magnolia, Scarlet Oak, River Birch, Tulip Tree, Elderberry and American Plum. There will also be live music from the "fearsome foursome" and delicious food from Holy Crepe! It is a rain or shine event, and in the case of rain it will be held indoors.
