Nature Mosaics with J Muzacz

Participants will learn mosaic basics and create either a butterfly design or a cactus design in a butterfly feeding tray to be displayed at our pollinator garden!<br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What will participants be taking away from this event:<br>Participants will be able to experience connecting nature with art with the Green Spaces Alliance and artist, J Muzacz. We will create butterfly and cacti mosaics inside of 10-in diameter butterfly feeding trays. The activity will be led at the outdoor classroom at the Bulverde Oaks Nature Preserve. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Once participants are done, we will display the feeding trays in the pollinator garden. Before starting the mosaics activity, we<br>will share the purpose of having the pollinator garden and the importance of native plants. We specifically chose the butterfly and cactus designs to showcase a pollinator insect and native plant species. We will also share about the local impacts and importance of these things so that participants will see real world applications to the topic. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The end goal is to inspire participants to look for and create art while they're outside (without disrupting the ecosystem) and also motivate them to come back to the pollinator garden for a future GSA event and see the feeding trays in full effect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
