Museum Book Club: The Importance of Being Earnest

Museum Book Club: The Importance of Being Earnest

About this Event

Led by Museum educator Tori Waldron, each session features a specially selected book that complements the themes of a current exhibition. Enjoy refreshments--including a themed snack and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages--in the Museum Store before joining a guided discussion linking literature to the art on view in our galleries. The Importance of Being Earnest This Museum Book Club meeting will feature a guided discussion of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde in the Museum Store and exhibition galleries on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30 to 7 pm.    From the play's effervescent beginnings in Algernon Moncrieff's London flat to its hilarious dénouement in the drawing room of Jack Worthing's country manor in Hertfordshire, this comic masterpiece keeps audiences breathlessly anticipating a new bon mot or a fresh twist of plot moment to moment.
