Cecil A. “Pete” Stafford, 79, of Panama City, FL, passed away on March 3, 2026. He was born on June 22, 1946, in Savannah, Ga to Cecil A. Stafford and Iris R. Stafford.Pete spent his life in service to his country, family and neighbors. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was known for his kindness, generosity, unwavering support to family & friends, and his willingness to always lend a hand.Pete was seldom idle. He enjoyed fixing things, fishing, hunting, reading, and playing music. He will be remembered for his intelligence, and ability to learn and most often master just about anything he set his mind to.He is survived by his children, son Thomas A. Stafford of Knoxville TN, and daughter Angela M. Stafford-Garganta of Virginia Beach, VA and his brothers Larry A. Stafford and Kevin G. Stafford both of Panama City, FL, 3 grandchildren and a niece and nephew.He was preceded in death by his mother, Iris R Roberts and father, Cecil A Stafford, a brother Jerome C. Stafford and his sister Wanda M. Stafford.Pete will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.A memorial service will be held on March 11, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Panama City, Fl.The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
