The City of Woodstock invites residents to take part in Greenstock Day Recycling and Paper Shredding Event designed to help the community “Go Green” by reducing landfill waste and promoting sustainable habits. The event will take place Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Woodstock City Church, located at 150 Ridgewalk Parkway.    Attendees can drop off a wide variety of items including electronics, cell phones, batteries, eyeglasses, gently used clothing, shoes, home goods, hearing aids, magazines, newspapers, cardboard, sporting goods, and compact fluorescent bulbs. All equipment collected will be broken down and processed for reuse, reducing pressure on landfills and preventing toxins from entering local soil and waterways. Donated cell phones, eyeglasses, and hearing aids will support the Georgia Lions Lighthouse. Compact fluorescent bulbs must be placed in a sealed, clear plastic bag, and long tubular fluorescent bulbs are not accepted. Household hazardous waste items will not be accepted at this event; they may be recycled by appointment at our event on Saturday, November 14, 2026.  While most collections are free, the following items require a small disposal fee payable in cash only: • TVs: $25; Projection TVs: $40 • CRT monitors: $10; LCD monitors: $5  A1 Shredding & Recycling will provide on‑site shredding of residential confidential documents, with a limit of 10 boxes per car.   Greenstock Day coincides with the City Wide Yard Sale Weekend, giving residents the opportunity to reduce waste by selling unwanted items before opting to dispose of them. Participants can submit their yard sale addresses online until April 20, view sale listings, and access an interactive map at woodstockparksandrec.com.
