The City of Woodstock is proud to celebrate Georgia Cities Week 2026 with a full lineup of community‑focused events, all specially themed to honor the Georgia US 250 commemoration. As our state commemorates 250 years of history, culture, and shared identity, Woodstock’s celebration highlights the people, partnerships, and vibrant civic spirit that makes our city feel lilke home.  This year’s activities invite residents of all ages to connect with their city, learn more about civic services, and experience the community pride that defines Woodstock.  Little Free Library Book DriveIn celebration of Georgia US250 and Georgia Cities Week, Woodstock is inviting the community to “pass the story on” by donating gently used books to support local Little Free Libraries. Residents can drop off donations at the Woodstock Visitors Center, where books will be collected throughout the celebration period. This initiative helps keep Woodstock’s Little Free Libraries stocked and encourages reading, sharing, and community connection. Donations are accepted Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 8588 Main Street in Downtown Woodstock.  Monday, April 20: Touch‑A‑Truck (4:00 – 5:00 PM, East Main Street) Georgia Cities Week kicks off with our family favorite Touch‑A‑Truck on East Main Street. Kids and adults alike can explore the vehicles and equipment used every day by Woodstock’s public works teams, first responders, and city staff. This hands‑on experience connects residents directly with the people who keep our city moving.  Tuesday, April 21: Lions Club City of Woodstock Employee Appreciation Breakfast   Hosted by the Lions Club, this annual breakfast celebrates the city employees who serve the community year‑round. The event honors their dedication and highlights the essential role of local government in shaping Woodstock’s past, present, and future and is an especially meaningful gesture during the Georgia 250 observance.  April 25–26: Citywide Yard Sale A beloved community tradition returns with the annual Citywide Yard Sale. Over two days, households across Woodstock participate in this collaborative event, promoting reuse, neighbor‑to‑neighbor connection, and the sense of community that has defined our city for generations.  Saturday, April 25: Woodstock Farm Fresh Market Georgia Cities Week coincides with the second weekend of the Woodstock Farm Fresh Market, offering locally grown produce, handmade goods, artisanal items, and more. This year’s market emphasizes Georgia’s agricultural legacy as part of the 250‑year celebration.  Saturday, April 25: Greenstock Day Recycling & Paper Shredding Event Woodstock’s annual Greenstock Day encourages environmental stewardship through free recycling and paper shredding services. This sustainability‑focused event reflects one of the city’s ongoing commitments: ensuring a healthy, resilient future for generations to come.  Celebrating Georgia 250 in Woodstock Each event throughout Georgia Cities Week incorporates themes from the Georgia 250 in Woodstock campaign, honoring our state’s part in our nation’s 250th while engaging residents in meaningful and enjoyable ways.
