Free Housing Workshops
About this Event
Midvale City, in partnership with NeighborWorks Salt Lake, is inviting residents and prospective homebuyers to attend a series of free housing workshops designed to provide practical guidance, resources, and support.
The workshops will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Midvale Community Center (7615 Park Street) and will cover both the homebuying process and home maintenance strategies.
The New Homebuyer Workshop, scheduled from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., is geared toward individuals and families considering purchasing a home. Participants will learn the step-by-step process of buying a home, gain a better understanding of mortgage financing, and explore how Midvale City’s Down Payment Assistance Program can help make homeownership more accessible.
Following that, the Home Repair Workshop will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This session is designed for current homeowners and will walk attendees through the process of completing home repairs, from application to construction. Participants will also learn budgeting strategies for ongoing maintenance and have the opportunity to meet program administrators and ask questions.
Both workshops highlight programs offered through Midvale City’s Redevelopment Agency, including the Down Payment Assistance Program and the Home Repair Loan Program. These initiatives are intended to support low- to moderate-income households by increasing access to homeownership and helping residents maintain safe, stable housing. Resources will be available in both English and Spanish.
The Home Repair Loan Program is made possible through funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited, and advance registration is encouraged.
