Fire Museum Open House
About this Event
Preserve the Past. Inspire the Future
Admission to the Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum is always free, thanks to the generosity of our community and volunteers. During open-house weekends, guests can meet retired firefighters, see live demonstrations, and take photos beside the restored 1922 American LaFrance engine.
Each visit helps preserve Fort Lauderdale's historic Fire Station No. 3 and honors the firefighters who served our city -- keeping their stories of courage and service alive for future generations.
Located in the beautifully restored 1927 Fire Station No. 3, the Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum honors our city's firefighters -- their courage, innovation, and lifelong commitment to keeping Fort Lauderdale safe.
Nestled in the Sailboat Bend Historic District along the New River, this Mediterranean Revival firehouse -- designed by architect Francis Abreu -- has transformed from a working station into a living museum dedicated to Fort Lauderdale's firefighting legacy.
Here, history lovers, families, and future firefighters can explore immersive exhibits, vintage apparatus, and stories that bring our firefighting heritage to life.
