Exploring History Through Literature Workshop

The Bradford House Historical Association will host Exploring History Through Literature Workshop, which is intended for grades eight through 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 9. The three-hour event, which costs $25 to attend has a limit of 20 participants, will require students in attendance to obtain and read the historical novel March in the Morning by Jack Maurer in advance. A PDF of a reading study guide will be provided to each registrant. A creative writing or art project is to be completed and brought to the workshop. During the workshop, students will explore the six tumultuous weeks in the summer and fall of 1794 that were the height of the Whiskey Rebellion through PowerPoint presentations and hands-on activities. Students will analyze primary source materials to learn about the Whiskey Rebellion, its leaders, and its significant in American history. Lunch will be provided.
