The Guilford Conservation Commission in partnership with Guilford Parks and Recreation and Sustainable Guilford Task Force are celebrating Earth Day on the Guilford Green on Saturday, April 25 (Rain date April 26) from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Honoring the spirit of the first Earth Day in 1970, which arose in response to the environmental crisis of land, water, and air pollution, many of this year's exhibitors will showcase how they are responding to the current environmental crisis of global warming. This family-friendly community event will feature food trucks, non-profit organizations with hands-on learning and educational materials, vendors, a pop-up repair cafe, and more! The Pop -Up Repair Cafe will be staffed to assist with minor repairs to children's toys, clothing & stuffed animals, bike repair, garden tool sharpening, small household appliances, and electronics, including tech help. The Earth Day event will also kick off Guilford Community Cleanup week, during which individuals and organizations can pick up supplies, select a section of road or park to pick up litter from, and bring collected trash back.Registration for Cleanup Week will be available at Earth Day, and is available online here.
