Dune Grass Planting with Muskegon Conservation District

About this Event
Help Stop Dune Erosion!
Did you know dune grass roots can grow up to 20 feet deep? These extensive root systems help hold sand in place, stabilize dunes, and support healthy shoreline habitats. By planting dune grass in areas affected by erosion, volunteers play an important role in protecting Lake Michigan's dunes for future generations.
Join Muskegon County Parks and the Muskegon Conservation District as we work together to restore and protect the dunes at Dune Harbor Park. Volunteers will be guided to designated erosion areas where they will help plant dune grass to strengthen dune systems and reduce future erosion.
