UPDATE MAY 22, 2026- The opening of Cravens Pool will be delayed due to an unexpected mechanical malfunction discovered during preseason maintenance. At this time, the length of repairs is still being determined. Our team is working quickly to resolve the issue and will provide updates as more information becomes available. All programs and activities scheduled at Cravens Pool will also be postponed until the facility reopens. Combest Pool will still open as scheduled on Saturday, May 23. Spray parks at Smothers Park, Kendall-Perkins Park, and Legion Park will also open as planned.------------------------------------------------- Owensboro Parks & Recreation is making a splash this Memorial Day Weekend as City pools officially open for the season on Saturday, May 23. Families can cool off at both Combest Pool and Cravens Pool, while all three city spray parks will also reopen for the summer. Combest Pool, a longtime summer favorite for Owensboro families, will once again offer open swim, special events, and themed activities throughout the season. Families can also sign their kids up for swim lessons at Combest Pool. Information on hours, admission, and upcoming events can be found at Owensboro Parks & Recreation – Combest Pool.Cravens Pool, the city’s newest aquatic facility, features family-friendly amenities and the return of its popular “Paddle & Play” program designed specifically for parents and young children. Paddle & Play will take place June 9 through July 30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00–11:30 a.m. The program is geared toward children ages 0–6 and allows parents to enjoy the pool alongside their little ones in a relaxed, kid-friendly setting. Admission for Paddle & Play is $8 and includes one parent and up to two children age 5 and under. Additional children are $3 each. Themed Paddle & Play days will also be held throughout the summer.
