Adopted a resolution authorizing to adjourn to a closed session pursuant to MCL 15.268(e) to consult with the City's attorneys regarding trial or settlement strategy in connection with pending litigation in Lo v City of Petoskey, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan Case No. 1:25-cv-01027 for the reason that an open meeting would have a detrimental financial effect on the litigating or settlement position of the City;
Adopted a resolution authorizing to adjourn to a closed session pursuant to MCL 15.268(e) to consult with the City's attorneys regarding trial or settlement strategy in connection with pending litigation in Powell et al v City of Petoskey, Emmet County Circuit Court Case No. 24-000108431-AA for the reason that an open meeting would have a detrimental financial effect on the litigating or settlement position of the City, and to consider material exempt from discussion or disclosure by statute under MCL 15.268(h), specifically identified as an attorney-client privileged written legal opinion;
Adopted a resolution approving a private Bay Harbor fireworks display permit for August 8, 2026;
Conducted a first reading of a proposed ordinance amending Chapter 10 – Fire Prevention and Control regarding fireworks;
Conducted a first reading of a proposed ordinance adding Appendix D – Outdoor Lighting Ordinance to the Zoning Ordinance;
Conducted a first reading of proposed ordinance amending Chapter 21 – Traffic and Motor Vehicles regulating bicycles;
Discussed and tabled locations for 2026 Ward and City Conventions; and
Adopted a resolution authorizing to contract with Executive Fence and Gate, Byron Center, for dog park fence installation project.
