An Inspirational Women’s History Event at DPHS
About this Event
Deer Park High School celebrated Women’s History Month in March with an inspiring, student-centered event that honored the achievements and contributions of women.
The evening began with a musical performance by the Phoenix Club, followed by a panel of accomplished female professionals who shared their experiences and messages of empowerment. Students played a central role, leading interactive workshops and activities focused on wellness, cultural appreciation and self-expression. Guests engaged in hands-on experiences, including creative projects, literary discussions and learning opportunities highlighting influential women from around the world. The event reflected the district’s commitment to student voice, cultural awareness and social-emotional learning, leaving attendees inspired and empowered.
“Our Women’s Event was a great success, inspiring young women to explore career paths that have historically presented challenges,” Board of Education trustee Jerry Jean-Pierre said.
“Our speakers shared their journeys with honesty and vulnerability, highlighting the obstacles they overcame,” Associate Principal Dr. Dina Pannone said. “The attendees left feeling inspired and with a deeper appreciation for both the challenges faced and the successes achieved.”
