About this Event
In recognition of National Work Zone Awareness Week, local road and public works agencies invite third-grade students to take part in the 10th Annual Work Zone Safety Poster Contest!
THEME:Safe Actions Save Lives
HOW TO ENTERUse the sign template (available in Contest Resource Folder) to create a “caution sign” showing one of the following safety tips for motorists approaching a work zone:
Stay focused (no distractions)
Obey flaggers and signs
Slow down / move over
Or the 2026 National Work Zone Awareness theme: Safe Actions Save Lives
Use crayons, markers, colored pencils, or pens.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONWinners will be selected based on creativity, originality, and message clarity. Educators and families will be notified of award recipients the week of National Public Works Week, May 17–23.

📣 Winning entries will be featured on participating agencies’ social media to promote work zone safety
