The Tiny Focus Trick That Gets You Moving
When a task feels huge, your brain may not need more motivation—it needs a smaller target. Try naming the next physical action, not the entire project.
Shakespeare’s Secret for Making Time Visible
In Sonnet 73, Shakespeare doesn’t merely say “I’m getting older.” He turns aging into bare trees, a dying fire, and the last light of day—and somehow makes that difficult truth feel like a gift.

Start With Doubt, End With Better Answers
Francis Bacon had no patience for opinions dressed up as facts. His advice from 1605 is still a remarkably practical way to think before the internet—and especially after it.

Washington keeps selling disruption as strategy while households count the cost in grocery aisles and paychecks. Meanwhile, quieter fights over public health and federal data could shape the country long after the cable-news panels move on.

Paving begins this week north of Worland on US 16/20/Wyoming 789 highway improvement project October 7, 2026 WORLAND, Wyo – The prime contractor for highway improvements on US Highway 16/20/789 is scheduled to begin paving activities Friday. Prime contractor is McGarvin-Moberly Construction Co., of Worland. The contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2027. "Weather permitting, McGarvin-Moberly will begin paving between milepost 168.82 (north of the Worland city limits) and milepost 173 of US Highway 16/20 starting Friday. We appreciate the patience of all those involved in agricultural harvesting and motorists," said Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Kelly Erickson of Worland. Erickson said concrete work has been rescheduled to begin in March 2027. "Paving will continue as long as fall weather holds," Erickson said. The scope of work on the $6.57 million project includes asphalt milling and an asphalt pavement overlay, chip sealing, ADA improvements, repairing and replacing concrete sidewalk and curb and gutter, and installing a roadway lighting system on 10.9 miles of US 16/20/Wyoming Highway 789. The project's starting point is milepost 165.76, the intersection of US 16 and US 20/Wyoming Highway 789 adjacent to the Washakie County Courthouse in Worland. Erickson said new intersection light poles will be installed next spring at the US 20 intersections of Washakie County Road 10 and County Road 12. Weekly public meetings will resume in the spring at McGarvin-Moberly's office south of Worland, 1001 US Highway 20 North. "We will hold weekly public meetings while concrete work is happening within the Worland city limits, beginning in the spring," said Erickson. The project was originally scheduled to begin July 9. "We really appreciate everyone's patience with the delayed start," Erickson said. Project questions may be directed to WYDOT Resident Engineer Kelly Erickson, P.E., at (307) 431-2281.
