A Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Elko, NV for portions of southeastern Humboldt County, northern Lander County, western Elko County, northern Eureka and Lander Counties north of Interstate 80, central Elko County, and eastern Elko County is set to expire tonight, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 PM PDT.

The NWS reported that moist air has moved into the region, increasing surface relative humidities (RHs) to 40-60%. Humidities are expected to continue rising overnight, with rain showers anticipated on Sunday. While winds have largely diminished across most of the region, Northerly wind gusts of approximately 25 mph are expected in Zone 437, primarily over higher terrain, into the overnight hours. Additionally, Southerly wind gusts of around 25 mph are anticipated in the southern halves of zones 469 and 470 into the overnight hours.

This Red Flag Warning indicates critical fire weather conditions, although the immediate threat is diminishing as the warning expires. Residents are advised to remain vigilant regarding fire safety. No specific instructions beyond the warning itself were provided in this alert.
