USPS, FTC and State Officials Team Up Against Mail Fraud Targeting Seniors

The U.S. Postal Service, Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general are coordinating efforts to stop mail fraud schemes targeting senior citizens.

Postal Inspectors investigate and prosecute mail fraud cases. The FTC enforces consumer protection laws against deceptive practices and distributes educational materials to help seniors spot scams involving sweepstakes, lotteries and other fraudulent solicitations. State consumer protection agencies assist fraud victims and pursue cases under state law.
