Learn about all the ways to handle your incoming USPS® mail and packages and choose the best option. Get Informed Delivery Now both business and personal accounts can preview images of mail and manage incoming packages on one dashboard without entering tracking numbers. From the Informed Delivery® dashboard, you can also sign up for text or email notifications, schedule delivery alerts, request Redelivery, enter USPS Delivery Instructions®, and more. USPS Electronic Signature Online Informed Delivery for personal accounts includes USPS Electronic Signature Online® (USPS eSOL®), a feature that allows you to digitally sign for incoming packages that require a signature including Priority Mail Express®, Signature Confirmation™, and those insured for $500 or more. USPS carriers will leave your packages in your mailbox or at your preferred delivery location if they are too large to fit in your mailbox. Standard Forward Mail & Change of Address USPS is taking steps to increase security, combat identity theft, and further protect customers' information. When submitting a change of address request online, users need to verify identity by opting in to receive a verification code on mobile phone OR visiting a Post Office location with acceptable photo ID. A $1.25 identity verification fee applies. After approval, confirmation and coupons are provided. Change of address requests last 12 months and can be extended for 6, 12, or 18 additional months. Premium Forwarding Mail For a weekly fee, customers can have most mail sent weekly with Premium Forwarding Service Residential® for vacations or out-of-town assignments. The temporary service is available for periods as short as 2 weeks and up to 1 year. USPS Package Intercept With USPS Package Intercept® service, senders (or authorized representatives) can redirect domestic packages, letters, and flats with tracking or extra services barcodes as long as items have not been delivered or released for delivery. Retail senders can request redirects back to their address or to a Post Office location as Hold For Pickup. Commercial senders can use Business Customer Gateway to request redirects to new delivery addresses or Post Office locations. Reserve a PO Box Customers can reserve PO Boxes to separate home and business mail or keep addresses private. PO Boxes are available in various costs and sizes. Users find one online, complete the application, pay with a credit card, and bring the printed form, emailed receipt, and two IDs to the Post Office. USPS Hold Mail Customers going out of town can submit a USPS Hold Mail® request online to have mail kept safely at their local Post Office until return. Service can be scheduled for a minimum of 3 days and maximum of 30 days in advance or by 2 AM CST (Mon.–Sat.) on the start date. Users must create or sign into their USPS.com account to verify identity and current address. Hold For Pickup Recipients can elect Hold For Pickup whether shipping from a retail store or printing their own shipping label with postage. This allows collection at the local Post Office. Schedule Redelivery Service If a package or mail delivery is missed, customers can request redelivery online using the tracking barcode and schedule delivery on a more convenient day. In select markets, recipients can schedule Redelivery to a USPS® Smart Locker. Redelivery can be scheduled via USPS Tracking®. USPS Delivery Instructions If a package doesn't fit in a mailbox and the recipient won't be home, USPS Delivery Instructions allow customers to authorize carriers to leave packages at specified locations online. Options include leaving with a neighbor or holding at a Post Office. For additional postage, packages can be sent to different domestic addresses, upgraded to Priority Mail Express® or Priority Mail® service, with insurance and extra services available. Service is available for domestically sent packages only, with restrictions for APO/FPO/DPO addresses.
