Tropical Storm Warning for Escambia Coastal: Shelter from Life-Threatening Wind

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Escambia Coastal, including Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Perdido Bay, with immediate action required to shelter from life-threatening winds, localized storm surge, and major rainfall flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Escambia Coastal, including Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Perdido Bay, by the National Weather Service Mobile AL, effective immediately until 9:15 AM CDT today, October 10, 2026. Tropical storm-force winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected through the next few hours, with the potential for hurricane-force winds (74 to 110 mph).

Residents are advised to shelter from life-threatening wind conditions. The area is subject to considerable wind damage, and potential impacts are currently unfolding.

Localized storm surge of 1-3 feet above ground is possible through this morning in surge-prone areas. All flood preparations should be complete. Stay away from storm surge prone areas and continue to follow local official instructions.

Major rainfall flooding is anticipated, potentially leading to evacuations and rescues. Rivers and tributaries may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures. Driving conditions will become dangerous, with numerous road and bridge closures. Heed all flood watches and warnings.
