New Upper Peace River MFL Peer Review Panel - Meeting 6 Tom.Hyle@swfwm… Mon, 04/06/2026 - 05:29 Microsoft Teams United States Friday, April 17, 2026 – 10:00 am The Southwest Florida Water Management District is currently developing new minimum flow standards for the Upper Peace River. Minimum flows are intended to prevent significant harm to the water resources or ecology of an area that may be caused by water withdrawals. The draft minimum flows report for the Upper Peace River, along with the scientific or technical data, methodologies, models, and assumptions used to support the development of proposed minimum flows, is voluntarily subjected to independent scientific peer review. The peer review is conducted by a panel of recognized experts in fields relevant to the development of minimum flows.All meetings are open to the public. Boil Water Notice Issued for Part of DeSoto County After Water Main Break

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. – A boil water notice has been issued for the following areas in DeSoto County: Southwest of SW County Road 760 to SW Mills Avenue West of SW Mills Avenue to SW County Road 761 North of SW County Road 761 to SW Self Circle East of SW Self Circle to SW County Road 760 The notice was issued due to a water main break. Residents in the affected area are advised to boil their water for one minute before consumption as a precautionary measure. Water should be boiled for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice. As a result, water used for those purposes should be boiled for one minute before consumption. The boil water notice will remain in effect until the water has been tested and is safe to drink.
