Residents in south central Escambia County, Alabama, and north central Santa Rosa County, Florida, should seek immediate shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Mobile, AL. The warning is in effect until 5:00 PM CDT today, September 20.

At 4:21 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected near Riverview, or Brewton, moving southwest at 5 mph. The primary hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and nickel-sized hail. This can lead to damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Affected areas include Brewton, Flomaton, East Brewton, Jay, Pollard, and Riverview.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately. The warning is set to expire at 5:00 PM CDT.
