A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Coffee County, including Enterprise and Elba, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL, effective immediately as of October 8 at 5:22 PM EDT. This warning remains in effect until October 9 at 1:30 AM UTC.

Residents should prepare for dangerous winds with peak gusts up to 45 mph, and a potential for stronger winds between 58 to 73 mph. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and mobile homes is possible. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds arrive.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with 2-4 inches of rain expected, and locally higher amounts possible. Major flooding is anticipated, potentially leading to evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act may result in serious injury or loss of life.

The NWS indicates a potential for several tornadoes, some possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats are urged to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if issued.
