Palmetto Adjusts City Services Due to COVID-19

PALMETTO – The City of Palmetto has provided updates on services and programs impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents can find information on city operations and available resources.

The City Hall lobby reopened June 17, 2020, after earlier closures and public meeting cancellations announced March 31, 2020. The Building Department closed public access March 18, 2020, as a safety measure.

Manatee County offered small businesses impacted by COVID-19 the Recover Manatee Safety First Small Business Grant Program. The application period ran July 14 to July 24, 2020, and was available to eligible businesses in Palmetto.

The city also issued updates on utility billing payment methods Aug. 21, 2020, and on Parks and Special Function Permits July 28, 2020.

Residents seeking COVID-19 information can consult resources from the Florida Department of Health, Manatee County Public Safety and Manatee County Schools. The city issued Executive Orders 2020-01 through 2020-04 related to the pandemic.
