In-Person Disaster Loan Assistance Available for Chelan Hills Fire-Affected Residents • Douglas County, WA If you were affected by the Chelan Hills Fire, SBA disaster loan assistance may be available to help you recover-whether you own a home, rent, run a business or operate an eligible nonprofit. Douglas County News & Information Posted on September 30, 2026 The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will have representatives at the Douglas County Law and Justice Center beginning Thursday, October 1, to assist residents, businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations affected by the Chelan Hills Fire. SBA representatives can answer questions, explain available SBA disaster loans and assist with completing applications. SBA Outreach Center Location: Law and Justice Center100 19th Street NW, East Wenatchee Opening: Thursday, October 1, at 1 p.m. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Representatives will be here until October 23. Please note the SBA Outreach Center will be closed Monday, October 12. SBA disaster loans may be available to eligible homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofits affected by the fire. Homeowners may qualify for up to $500,000 for damage to a primary residence and up to $100,000 for personal property. Renters may qualify for up to $100,000 for damaged personal property. Businesses and eligible nonprofits may qualify for up to $2 million for physical damage and, in some cases, economic injury. Interest rates are as low as 2.875% for homeowners and renters, with terms of up to 30 years. No payments are due for the first 12 months, and there are no fees to apply. Agricultural producers, farmers and ranchers are not eligible for SBA disaster loans, except for aquaculture enterprises.
