Davis & Elkins College Raises $25M for Student Housing
Davis & Elkins College completed a $25 million capital campaign in 36 months, funding construction of Glory Residence Hall and renovations to Roxanna Booth and Gribble Residence Halls without borrowing.
President Chris A. Wood hosted a celebration June 1 on the patio of Glory Residence Hall, where trustees, faculty, staff, donors, alumni and students gathered to mark the milestone. Wood named the residence hall to remind students and visitors of God's glory.
The "Creating Home: It Takes A Village" campaign raised funds for construction and scholarships, preserving the college's financial health by eliminating debt service payments. Wood said the project positions Davis & Elkins to remain competitive amid challenges in private higher education.
