Saint James Catholic School names six scholarship winners

Saint James Catholic School announced six scholarship recipients for the 2026-2027 school year across three programs.

Sixth grader Arianna Reburn received the Amy Alicna Scholarship. Sixth grader Addison Peak received the Angela Kirchner Memorial Scholarship. Fourth grader Easton Phiri, fifth graders Isabella Delgado Prieto and Dominic Brown, and second grader River Gentry earned Knights of Columbus Scholarships.

Brian and Lindsey Alicna created the Amy Alicna Scholarship Fund in 2019 to support Saint James parishioners who cannot afford tuition. Amy Alicna attended Saint James and died in 1986 as a sixth grader. Her brother Brian also attended the school.

Teacher Patty Kirchner and her husband Paul established the Angela Kirchner Memorial Scholarship in 2022 to honor their daughter.

The Knights of Columbus, which supports Catholic parishes and education, awarded scholarships for the first time this cycle.

The Central Kentucky Community Foundation administers all three scholarships. For information about establishing additional scholarships, contact Jennifer Moran at 270-765-7011 or [email protected].
