Coffee County residents, including Enterprise and Elba, must prepare immediately for severe weather as a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL, effective today, October 8, 2026, at 5:03 AM EDT, and expiring at 1:15 PM UTC.

Strong winds are expected, with forecasts of 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. While the wind threat has decreased, prepare for potential limited damage to property, downed tree limbs, and scattered power outages. Secure outdoor objects now.

A Flood Watch is also in effect. Major flooding from 2-4 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, is possible. Evacuations and rescues are likely. Heed all flood watches and warnings immediately.

The tornado threat has increased. Several tornadoes are possible, with a few potentially intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should seek safe shelter before hazardous weather arrives. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly.
