Clarion Water Utility Builds Modern Treatment Plant

The Clarion water utility is moving forward with plans for a New Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This project aims to modernize the town's water treatment capabilities, introducing Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration to produce significantly softer water for residents.
The existing water treatment building, originally constructed in 1927, served as an iron removal facility. While numerous improvements and expansions over the years increased its capacity, the underlying technology remained the same. The new plant will bring Clarion's water treatment into the modern era.
ISG of Des Moines was contracted to design the New Water Treatment Plant. Design work for the facility concluded in 2022.
